What do you get when you cross a black person, a Republican, and a Church of Christ preacher?
Whether or not it sounds like the beginning of a bad joke, what you really get is Herman E. Wesley, a black Church of Christ preacher from Montgomery, Alabama who is making news by trying […]

According to the Washington Post, Meredith Vieira is 49 years old. I’m not picking on the WaPo, because several other papers are also reporting Vieira as 49.
The problem? She’s 52.
The Hartford Courant reported that fact, probably before the talking points including the “49″ story hit the media.
According to a 1989 USA […]

Here is my take on the latest furor over Ann Coulter saying something irresponsible:
I’m thinking to myself, if we were in other countries, we would all right now, all of us together, [starts to shout] all of us together would go down to Washington and we would stone Henry Hyde to death! We […]

Dear Jesus,
I don’t know much about you. My neighbors, my children, and I are starving and oppressed. I’ve heard rumors about other places like America where there is freedom and plenty, but we are not allowed to leave. We can only whisper of such things here.

Seriously. Have we lost all capacity for simple distinctions and rational thought? Is this a good faith misunderstanding or are some people so anxious to believe that the U.S. is responsible for all the evil in the world that they just hear what they want to hear?

It’s wrong when small, relatively weak collections of individuals do it, and it’s wrong when powerful nation states do it. This principle shouldn’t be controversial, but defending it has gotten me into a few arguments with some conservative friends of mine.
I used to […]

There are several posts on The Corner today about the popularity of products featuring the image of Che Guevara. What an interesting irony and sad commentary. The image of this Communist murderer is being exploited by capitalists to make money from people who, we can only pray, know nothing about the man […]

Catching up on some of what I missed while out of town last week, I saw this from Christopher Hitchens.
It looks like British MP George Galloway’s diatribe before the Senate Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations was not just insulting, anti-American, moonbat nonsense; it was also perjurious. Though the Senators were shamefully silent […]

From The Washington Times:
Black Democratic leaders in Maryland say that racially tinged attacks against Lt. Gov. Michael S. Steele in his bid for the U.S. Senate are fair because he is a conservative Republican.
Such attacks against the first black man to win a statewide election in Maryland include […]
