I have not been able to write about this since I first received a copy of Ms. Holmes-Reddings' interview. I am confounded by the willful blindness of it all.

My life as an Episcopalian in exile has been nothing but sorrow upon sorrow. This Muslim Christian, this Episcopalian Muslim priest, is the sort of atrocity one might expect in the lore of Greek gods and goddessess: some colossus with two heads and four hands. But in spirit it is merely the sort of paganism to which many Christians are growing accustomed. I for one see Unitarianism pervading all-things Episcopal; I have said of my beloved church that it is merely Unitarianism with a fetish for vestments.

This woman's pick-and-choose-for-oneself brand of religious hybridism is indeed monstrous, come to think of it: The monster is a damned Narcissus looking for beauty in his own hell.

I know, strong language. Forgive me.

Peace.

It just amazes me. I cannot fathom how someone can profess another religious faith while also professing the confession "Jesus is Lord" (well, it is apparent that such a confession means nothing). Even if one rejects the scriptures, the Christian faith has a history that has always demanded of the church a confession that "Jesus is Lord."

Wow!
