Kidnapped Fox journalists convert to Islam on video
WHAT?!
We went to church yesterday, ate lunch quickly before going to our son’s football game, then I came home and tried my hand at “Freezer Cooking.” I didn’t see, hear or read much news. This comes as a bit of a surprise:
GAZA (Reuters) - Two kidnapped Fox journalists appeared on a new videotape released by their captors on Sunday in the Gaza Strip, in which the reporters said they had converted to Islam, the Fox News Channel said.

“Convert or have your head lopped off!” I wonder where these terrorists learned such an “evangelism” methodology?

I wonder how I would act. I mean, I wish I could say I would stand firm like Daniel did, but I know I can hear myself rationalizing even as I think about it. A few days ago someone mentioned the tragedy at Columbine high school and I thought again of the courage of that 16 year old girl when asked, as her killer held a gun to her head, if she believed in God, and she said “yes.”

I have also wondered what my own response would be. I thank God that we live in a country where I am unlikely to ever be faced with a choice between my faith and my life. (Although like the young lady at Columbine it is possible.) I hope that I would have the presence of mind to not only stand firm, but say something helpful and inspiring so that others would take heart.
