This is Bizarre

Liver Let Die

Hanging out in homeschooling forums can sometimes cause you to run across links completely unrelated to homeschooling, but laugh out loud funny. Mrs. Extremist ran across this link recently. At first glance, I couldn’t figure out why she sent me something about old Weight Watchers recipe cards. If you take the tour though, you’ll discover as I did a strange world of 1970’s culinary arts (warning: some of the links have coarse language). We both laughed until we cried.

I can’t decide which is my “favorite:” Fluffy Mackerel Pudding, Chilled Celery Log, Fish “Tacos”, or Liver Pate En Masque.

I don’t know what the calorie counts are, but if these were on the menu every night, I would definitely lose weight — but the dog might gain a few pounds.

It’s hard to believe any of the food on the cards was made by adults.

It almost looks as though the food was submitted by parents that were showing what their lovely children had made them for dinner on mother’s day or a nice saturday morning breakfast.

I’m happy my wife never gets that “creative” with our meals.

I laughed long and hard going through these–and I needed to laugh. Thanks for the links.
