More Bison Hunting
GKB once again takes aim at Harding University and its American Studies Institute and once again misses the mark (two posts in a row this time!):
I would say the same thing if the American Studies Institute promoted communism, socialism or nudism [or environmentalism???]. . . .Call me a Pharisee, but I would rather build a hedge around this political issue, instead of dancing on the rim of this very dangerous cliff.
If that were only true, I could understand and respect your position more readily, Greg. However, it appears that is not true at all.
If you were really just concerned about tying Christianity too closely with any political position, then why didn’t you denounce Dr. Money and others for the implication in the Evangelical Climate Change Initiative that the failure to embrace certain environmentalist claims is immoral?

Ouch!!!

So, someone pays you to just hit refresh on Greg’s blog all day and then make quips like this, right?
Seriously, thats what you do you, right?
I mean, I think we have all figured out you won’t be competing together in the pairs ice skating competition in Torino (or Turin if you prefer).
Well, whatever. Happy Wildcat hunting (or poachining, whichever you prefer).

That’s not necessary. Just searching for references to Harding or stopping by his site once in a while lets me know when Greg has thrown one of his rhetorical bombs at our alma mater.
I try to respond when he does so and when I have time, though, it is hard to keep up sometimes. I gather you don’t approve.
Take heart. Unfortunately for me, I get no stipend from the Dr. David Burks performing arts fund (talk about “garbage” — comments like that one shouldn’t be all that people find when they search the blogs for stuff about Harding).

Oh, I don’t by any means disapprove. In all sincereity, I kind of get a kick out of the banter that brew back and forth. It does seem at times like you are just waiting in the wings to rebutt his posts (and though I have just begun to visit your site, vice versa I am sure).
I think this whole blogging thing is great and all, but I do not believe that the “dialogue” createdby his, your, or anyone’s site will ever change the hearts and mind of their respective readers. They seem to just gather whomever finds their POV most attractive.
I blog because I have fun with it. A little jab here and there, but all in fun. I don’t agree down the line with anyone else’s religious, political, or even ethical stances (thank God for the gift of free will)., but reading does help to get perspective, and I enjoy that.
As a side,I went to Harding. Good times, despite what I enountered there at times…but thats what I get for going to college in the Bible Belt, huh?
Keep blogging away! even as I type this before I rest my head, I know full well, you and GKB are rough-drafting your next verbal sparring match!
Thanks for your thoughts.

Well, thanks for visiting and please, take a look around. You’ll find that there is more here than just sparring with GKB.

Yes, even I am attacted to this blog.
But I try my hardest to remain a “thorn in the flesh” (in a friendly, and Christian way).
